Wat Arun Thailand

Thailand is a pagoda country with more than 31,200 temples across the country. One of Thailand’s most special temples is Wat Arun. The temple is located on the banks of the Thoburu of the Chao Phraya River, the capital of Bangkok.

This is a temple with typical Khmer architecture with spiral structure and sharp peaks. The temple is intricately carved by pro-Thai artists. The entire temple is elaborately inlaid with pieces of Chinese porcelain, sparkling in all colors.

In the middle of the temple is a main tower, higher than 70m. Around the foot of the temple is decorated with statues of monkey gods and Thai gods. The top of the temple has decoration with the trident of Shiva. The four corners around the tower are the architectural works that represent the mythical Mount Meru. This is the center of the world according to the Buddhist universe.

In the temple is a golden Buddha image, the main statue is the burial place of King Rama II’s ashes. The walls are carefully decorated with pictures of the Buddha’s life. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase in the center to reach the top of the tower. You will admire the beautiful winding Chao Phraya river and admire the Thai Royal Palace and Wat Pho opposite temple….
